The Nole Wire is an independent Florida State Seminoles football publication covering the program with long-form analysis, player features, recruiting deep-dives, and honest editorial perspective. We are not affiliated with Florida State University, and we take no advertising or editorial direction from the athletic department, the program, or any Seminoles booster organization.

Editorial Standards
We hold ourselves to a few non-negotiable standards. Every article on The Nole Wire is written by Marcus Whitfield and reflects his editorial perspective. We do not publish content generated without human editorial judgment. When we cite reporting from paywalled outlets like Warchant, On3, or Rivals, we credit the outlet by name and never reproduce paywalled content. When we run rumor-driven items in the Insider section, we use clear sourcing language ("We're hearing…", "There's chatter that…") and never present speculation as confirmed fact.
We correct errors publicly. If we get something wrong — a stat, a name, a fact about a recruit — we fix the article, note the correction at the bottom, and post the correction on our X account. We do not silently edit history.
Our editorial voice leans positive, but we are not a booster site. Positive means we give players and staff the benefit of the doubt on development and effort. It does not mean we ignore losses, avoid tough evaluations, or spin bad decisions. When FSU has a bad game, we write about the bad game. When a coaching hire looks like a stretch, we say so. Honest coverage is what makes positive coverage credible.
How We Fund This Site
The Nole Wire is currently funded out of pocket. We do not accept payment from Florida State University, the athletic department, players, agents, or NIL collectives in exchange for coverage. We plan to introduce display advertising in the future, at which point ads will be clearly labeled as advertising and separated from editorial content. We will disclose any material change in how the site is funded on this page.
Our Mission
In a media landscape saturated with hot takes, aggregated Twitter threads, and paywalled scoops, we believe FSU fans deserve something in the middle — a free, independent, human-written publication that treats the program with the respect it deserves while telling the truth about where it's headed.
